In this article, we&#039;ll walk you through each of them so you know exactly what to prepare and what to ask.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A good rental company doesn&#039;t hide anything from you \u2014 you know the terms, price, and condition of the vehicle before you sign the contract. So your first rental isn&#039;t a leap into the unknown, but a common formality.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To make a reservation, simply select your vehicle and the date you want to reserve \u2014 online or by phone. You will need a valid driver&#039;s license and ID when picking up; for corporate rentals, your billing information. Expect a refundable deposit, the amount of which depends on the vehicle category and is known in advance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Step-by-step vehicle pick-up and return<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When you pick up the car, you and the rental company employee will go through the car and fill out a handover report \u2014 the fuel level, mileage, and any existing damage will be recorded. This is the moment when it pays to be thorough: anything you notice, have it written down in the report, or take photos. This will protect you.
